Dear participants of the 10th Global Health Promotion Conference,

As we are bringing this extraordinary conference to a close, I would like to thank you for your active participation during the past three days, your contributions to the conference, and your dedication. This has been the largest WHO conference ever, with well over 5.000 active participants from 149 countries. As we streamed some of the sessions, the opening ceremony has been viewed 35,000 times.

I am grateful that many of you participated in the final drafting of the Geneva Charter for Well-being, and we now have a strong foundational document that will guide the way in re-booting our societies. As we heard from world leading experts, all ingredients are there. We know the “what” and the “how”. It is thus a political choice.

It is up to all of us now to make it happen in many more countries around the globe. We should hear the wake-up calls that the current pandemic, the climate change crisis and the social crisis send to us and understand the urgency for change.

The conference platform will serve us as a forum to meet, dialogue, exchange and advocate. The registration will remain open so that many more people can join. All the sessions are open for a review, so that you can watch the sessions you were not able to attend, or watch again. At the same time, the networking café can be used for exchanges, the resource section can be used to place important documents that will drive the implementation forward. Please share with us your arts and films.

We can organize meetings, webinars or townhall meetings with all participants of the conference and those who join later.

If you do not wish to receive further information on well-being, or you want to disengage, or you do not consent with your email addresses being used for this purpose, please indicate to 10GCHP@who.int  by 15 February 2022 latest so your email address will be deleted. After 15 February, the email address 10GCHP@who.int will no longer be active.

It has been a privilege and pleasure for the Health Promotion Teams in WHO - in our Headquarters and Regional Offices – to organize this Conference. We embraced cutting edge technology, were pleased to get the best in the world for the 7 plenaries, the 12 deep dives and 40 forum sessions. Let us use the momentum now to move the agenda forward.

With our best wishes for the end of the year celebrations.

And on behalf of the WHO Health Promotion Teams,
